1. Castelo da Lousã
Built in the 11th century, this medieval castle played a crucial strategic role in

2. Aldeia de Xisto do Candal
The aldeia de xisto do Candal is renowned for its schist houses, a local material that

the natural landscape. The narrow, winding streets of the village are lined with fairy-
tale-like buildings, featuring slate roofs and stone facades that stand the test of time

and weather.
In this charming village, you will find a shop offering typical regional products, as
well as a restaurant where you can have traditional local dishes, such as chanfana.

3. Baloiço do Trevim
Situated at 1,200 meters above sea level, this giant wooden swing is the highest
point in the Serra da Lousã. Its elevation provides the most breathtaking panoramic
view of the Lousã region.
